What is an Unlawful Eviction or Illegal Eviction under Harassment?

If you are a private tenant and have been given notice asking you to leave the property, the Landlord is required to comply with a legal procedure in order to evict you.

If your Landlord fails to follow this legal procedure then this is unlawful/illegal eviction and you may be entitled to seek an injunction and also compensation from your Landlord. If your Landlord is harassing you then you may be entitled to seek an injunction and also compensation under The Protection from Harassment Act 1997 and other housing legislation.
