Fixed Fee Divorce Consultation
We start proceedings with a fixed fee 1 hour consultation for £150 (plus VAT). This time can be used to discuss any family law matter whether it be divorce, child arrangements, a financial settlement, cohabitee dispute, surrogacy or adoption or any other family related issue. During this initial consultation we will provide an overview of the relevant law and answer any questions that relate to your specific circumstances.
The fixed fee appointment is also a good opportunity to begin building a professional rapport with your divorce solicitor. Family law matters are generally very personal and emotive and you need to know that your lawyer is someone who talks your language, someone who is on your side and is someone you can trust.
The consultation will be followed up with a detailed advice letter which will outline everything discussed during the call.
To book an appointment please call 020 8889 3319 or book online
Fixed Fee Divorce
We also offer a fixed fee divorce service for £800.00* (exc. vat and court fees) if you wish to apply for a divorce. This will include a step by step service starting with the divorce application and ending with the final order. There may be other costs associated with divorce which are related to the divorce financial settlement and arrangements for children following divorce or separation. If other costs apply, at all stages, we will keep you informed on how much your divorce will cost and we will give you realistic timescales on how long the divorce will take, as the timescales will vary depending on your specific circumstances.

Services Related to Divorce
The process of divorce can be relatively straighforward if both parties are in agreement, there are no children involved and very few shared assets to divide. However, most married couples need support beyond the divorce process. If there is property involved there maybe decisions to be made regarding who gets the house after the divorce and arrangments may need to be made so both parents have access to any children involved. Whatever your circumstances we can help to find a resolution to enable both of you to move on with your lives. To do this our divorce solicitors take a collaborative law approach which promotes positive discussions between a separating couple. This approach aims to avoid expensive court intervention and generally produces an outcome that works better for both sides. In addition to divorce advice our support can include:
- Negotiating a Separation Agreement for couples not ready or unable to divorce
- Negotiating the divorce financial settlement
- Formalising the financial settlement with a Consent Order
- Applying for orders regarding children including Child Arrangement Orders, Specific Issue Orders and Prohibative Step Orders
- Advice around spousal or child maintenance
- Advice for victims of domestic violence
- Representation in the Family Court (if and when required)
- International divorce
- Changing names of both adults and children post divorce
- Will writing or updating and lasting powers of attorney (post divorce recommendations)
We pride ourselves on being friendly and approachable so if you need advice from one of our friendly solicitors, please do get in touch by calling 020 8889 3319 or via one of the options below.
Common Divorce Questions
How long will the process take?
If there are no complex difficulties the process should take from 8 – 12 months.
What if my spouse doesn’t want a divorce?
As long as you can persuade the court that the marriage or civil partnership has irretrievably broken down you will still be able to obtain your divorce. Your divorce solicitors will help you to arrange your divorce application to start proceedings. We can help you with this.
Do I need to deal with the finances of the marriage?
You can opt to deal with the finances of the marriage at the same time as your divorce or at a later date. Our divorce solicitors can help you decide when to deal with the finances so it is most beneficial for you. Please see our Financial Settlement in Divorce page.
Will the courts also deal with the children?
The Court will not automatically deal with whom the children live with or contact issues during the court process. If you cannot agree arrangements for your children, you can make a separate application under the Children Act 1989. If you would like our divorce lawyers to assist you with this please see our Child Arrnagements Order page.
How much will a divorce cost?
We offer a fixed fee divorce service for £800.00* (exc. vat) if you wish to petition for divorce. This will include a step by step service through the whole process. Please note that there will be additional court fees of £593.00. You may qualify for Legal Aid if you have gateway evidence – please see our Legal Aid page or ask for more details.
