Don't bother with this legal firm. Just received a silly email that has no relevance to my situation. After being told by multiple qualified parties to pursue my case and my options , someone else fitting the usual profile is telling me to disagree with professional advice already provided. Already reviewed in detail by someone with 32 years legal experience. They appear to act according to bias. I will pursue my matter accordingly no matter what exaggerated and illegitimate concerns are raised. I was told by many to take action and that is exactly what I am going to do.

Vas, TR Partner, was recommended to me by one of her previous clients and subsequently approached to manage a protracted matrimonial matter for a close family friend, the context being a poor and prior experience with aAnother Legal Firm and Solicitor therein. Adoption creates a permanent legal relationship between you and a child, giving you full parental responsibility.

It is a structured legal process involving assessment, matching, and court approval. Adoption may be suitable where you are looking to grow your family or formalise an existing relationship, such as adopting a partner’s child.

ADOPTION IN THE UK

Adopting a partner’s child is a common and often positive way to formalise an existing family relationship. It gives the step-parent full legal parental responsibility and secures the child’s legal position within the family.

However, it is not a purely administrative step. Step-parent adoption is a legal process that permanently changes parental rights.

ADOPTING A STEPCHILD

International adoption involves adopting a child from another country and requires compliance with both UK law and the legal system of the child’s country of origin.

This process often includes additional steps, such as immigration applications and ensuring that the adoption is recognised in England and Wales.

INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION

Surrogacy is another route to parenthood where a surrogate carries a child on behalf of intended parents.

In England and Wales, surrogacy arrangements are legal, but they are not automatically enforceable. Importantly, the surrogate is the child’s legal mother at birth, regardless of genetic connection.

To become the child’s legal parents, intended parents must apply for a parental order after the child is born. This transfers legal parenthood from the surrogate to the intended parents.

Surrogacy arrangements often involve complex legal and practical considerations, including agreements between the parties, fertility treatment, and post-birth legal processes.

SURROGACY SOLICITORS

Donor conception involves the use of donated sperm, eggs, or embryos to conceive a child.

While medical aspects are handled through fertility clinics, there are important legal considerations around parenthood and parental responsibility.

For example, where treatment takes place through a licensed clinic, the law provides a clear framework for determining who the legal parents are. However, where conception takes place outside a regulated setting, the legal position can be more complex.

Understanding these issues in advance can help avoid uncertainty later.

DONOR CONCEPTION

Not strictly a route to parenthood as a Special Guardianship Order does not make someone a parent. An SGO provides long-term parental responsibility for a child without completely severing the child’s legal relationship with their birth parents.

SGOs are often used where:

grandparents raise grandchildren
relatives care for children
long-term carers need greater legal authority

The special guardian can make most day-to-day decisions about the child.
