Anastasia Chen, Solicitor | Tyrer Roxburgh

Xinyi Chen (known as Anastasia) joined our team as the paralegal/receptionist in May 2023 and was very keen to develop her skills in Family and Housing Law matters. Her hard work and enthusiasm shone through and in May 2024 she was promoted to Trainee Solicitor and in January 2026 she qualified and was formally admitted to the solicitors’ role.

Anastasia assisted in obtaining an international relocation order in her client’s favour, which is a reported case: DV v ZV (Final Hearing, Application for relocation to Poland).

Anastasia also has a particular interest in matters involving LGBTQ+ family and surrogacy matters, to assist parents to acquire parental responsibilities for their children. She is regularly instructed by clients to represent them in complex private children proceedings, and conducts advocacy for her clients for cases involving:

domestic abuse
alcohol and substance abuse
parental alienation
Local Authority involvement
A Guardian being appointed to represent the child

Prior to joining Tyrer Roxburgh Solicitors, Anastasia completed her undergraduate degree in English Law at University of Dundee in 2020, Master degree in International Human Rights Law at University of Leicester in 2021 and the Legal Practice Course at University of Law in 2022. During her time at universities, she has been an active member of the family clinics at Pro Bono Societies.

Outside Anastasia’s study, she took opportunity to join the Witness Service of Citizens Advice Bureau in criminal courts to assist victims and witnesses to give evidence in the court. She also undertook some Pro Bono work at the National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV) to assist vulnerable victims of domestic violence by completing a Non-Molestation Order application.

Anastasia prides herself on her personal and friendly approach. Anastasia recognises that as a member in the Family Law team, it is not just a 9-5 job, it is also a vocation. Anastasia is also fluent in Mandarin as a native speaker and she understands the sensitive cultural aspects of the cases which puts her in the position to assist Chinese clients .

In her spare time, Anastasia enjoys travelling, learning and cooking cuisines from all cultures. Anastasia is also a certified scuba diver and enjoys the beautiful scene and marine life under the sea.

Don't bother with this legal firm. Just received a silly email that has no relevance to my situation.
