Celebrating 50 Years

As the end of the year draws near, the Team at Tyrer Roxburgh are not just reflecting on the last twelve months, we are reflecting on the last fifty years.

Half a century! That’s how long Tyrer Roxburgh have been serving the London community and throughout those fifty years, we have maintained the same ethos – to always be community focused.

The firm was founded by Tessa Roxburgh and Bruce Tyrer in 1974 and was originally based in Whymark Avenue in Crouch End.

Tessa and Bruce  (Bruce unfortunately passed away this year),  had a vision to create a firm that offered the community easy access to legal support. This is one of the reasons they opted to become Legal Aid lawyers so even those with a limited income, could  access quality legal advice.

Fast forward to today and Tyrer Roxburgh still offer Legal Aid. Over the years, the government has massively cut the types of advice that can be funded by Legal Aid and many firms opted out of the scheme. However, to ensure we remain true to our Founders’ vision, where we can, we still provide Legal Aid. We also offer privately funded legal advice for family  and housing law but keep our fees reasonable.

Now based in WoodGreen on St Michael’s Terrace, the current Partners of the firm, Vasoulla Constantinou and  Siva Sivapunniyam, are delighted to have inherited this thriving firm.

Vas and Siva will continue to offer Legal Aid for as long as possible and will ensure that the Tyrer Roxburgh family, the great team that work for the firm, are supported and have ample opportunity to develop their careers.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our amazing clients for trusting us to support them through some life-changing and emotional events.

We wouldn’t be here without you.
